PhD Students
Chris Braun is a 3rd year Informatics PhD student focusing on Bioinformatics. Some of his research interests are data and text mining, machine learning, cancer research in epigenetics, particularly methylation, and comparative cell cycle expression analysis. Current projects include employing text mining algorithms to “learn” patient outcomes from physician notes
Hasan Kurban is a second year PhD student in the School of Informatics and Computing at Indiana University Bloomington. He is majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Statistics. His main fields of interest are Data Mining, Machine Learning, Database and Information Systems and Statistics. You can find more information about him by clicking on his name.
Mark Jenne is a third year PhD student in the School of Informatics and Computing at Indiana University Bloomington. He is interested in Software Engineering and Data Mining with applications to the study of coral reefs, climate informatics, and astronomy.
